ABOUT THE JOB


The Inbound Logistics Specialist will be responsible for the management and administration of all inbound freight to our two facilities in Louisville KY in addition to shipments related to our factory direct program. This role will handle day-to-day activities associated with the international and domestic inbound transportation of our products and spare parts; to include tracking, coordinating customs clearance, communicating transportation issues, scheduling assistance and ensuring completion of inbound receiving activities. Other key duties include analyzing, creating and maintaining reports and measuring the transportation lead time from suppliers to our facilities.


ABOUT YOUR TASKS

  • Work with Purchasing teams, Suppliers, Customs Brokers, and carriers to ensure all shipments are captured, tracked, cleared, and delivered.
  • Maintain and update inbound tracking logs daily.
  • Review and confirm accuracy of shipping documentation for completeness.
  • Communicate status, delays to appropriate parties.
  • Support with external custom broker teams on our factory direct program to ensure that external brokers are provided all necessary documents to clear customs.
  • Resolve import issues with the support of Customs Broker and Customs Compliance specialist.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of receiving entries at warehouse.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and create reporting that helps support process improvements.
  • Analysis inbound and outbound freight damage for Food America’s sites
  • Creation of freight claims processing and resolutions for domestic freight shipments
  • Support on customer returns related to freight damage for claims process.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.


ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or equivalent years of experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Logistics or related role
  • 1+ years of experience in international freight
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications, and internet-based platforms and systems
  • Proficiency in Oracle EBS
  • Effective interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to details and ability to ensure accurate work
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and comply with strict time frames and deadlines, work with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be a self-starter, quick learner, and independent work style, which requires minimal supervision.
