POSITION SUMMARY:


John Hardy Merchandisers are goal-driven, highly motivated and well-organized professionals with the ability to work both independently and in coordination with a national/independent sales team. As a point of reference for colleagues and customers alike, they are central to managing sales related materials within store environments, providing after-sales support, and communicating relevant information. A Merchandiser is highly energetic, enthusiastic and confident to develop long-term business relationships, improving existing and/or creating new revenue opportunities as well as providing superior post-sale customer service.


Reporting To: Senior Account Executive

Location: NYC area preferred; based out of NY office when not travelling.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Key Responsibility #1: At the store level, execute all strategies to achieve overall business goals


  • Travel to stores (60%) to monitor inventory, replenishment, product mix, sales trends, merchandising techniques, visual presentation standards and overall sell through of merchandise
  • Assist in the preparation, organization, and execution of sales related events and trunk shows within the stores
  • Establish/maintain and build positive relationships with key sales associates, managers, stylist and boutique/retail directors
  • Ensure consistency and alignment of brand activations within the brand strategy
  • Lead training sessions to educate store associates on brand, product knowledge, merchandising standards and sales driving techniques
  • Work closely with store associates and managers to ensure brand merchandising standards are maintained
  • Identify prospective opportunities, generate leads and capture new clients
  • Identify and assist in floor move positioning as needed
  • Communicate with the stores on a daily/weekly basis
  • Act as a brand ambassador for John Hardy, embodying our values and standards in all client interactions


Key Responsibility #2: Assist the Director of Commercial Experience with Trunk Show/Events


  • Be present in the NY office (20%) to assist in the creating, receiving and returning trunk show merchandise
  • Assist in event invoicing, quarterly recaps, creating lookbooks and line sheets for events
  • Assist in event incentives with the structure, execution and reconciliation of all incentives


Key Responsibility #3: Assist Sr Account Executive to Increase sales, brand positioning and brand awareness


  • Work closely with Sr Account Executives (20%) to implement marketing within the store environment to increase brand awareness
  • Gain market knowledge and report market analysis on competitive brands
  • Leverage store data improve trend and maximize sales opportunities
  • Help support if needed in all John Hardy market events (NY market and trade shows)
  • Manage in-store visit schedule, book travel, schedule appointments, report expenses and prepare pre-visit worksheets
  • Conduct post-visit summaries (store visit reports) and send to John Hardy team
  • Attend weekly virtual check in with Sr Account Executives and Wholesale Team


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Able to contribute and work effectively within a team
  • Highly organized
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel overnight and on weekends as needed
