The Import Coordinator is responsible for processing shipments from multiple countries of origin to destination via air and ocean, while maintaining customer expectations. It will require working across multiple platforms to support several areas of the organization. The goal will be to achieve high accuracy through our forwarding systems to ensure efficiency and profitability, and on time deliveries. Also includes the ability to handle any issue with patience, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented mindset.



Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage import shipments from point of origin to destination which involves communicating with various manufacturers overseas, international freight providers and various domestic freight contacts in the United States. Includes using various tracking methods.
  • Contact vendors and courier companies to request quotes for ocean and air shipments. Also includes arranging and scheduling shipments accordingly.
  • Processing shipment details and recording shipment milestones daily in an ERP system during the tracking process.
  • Review and process commercial documents in a timely manner to ensure regulatory compliances are maintained.
  • Assists the day-to-day operations of the Import/Logistics department to ensure that customer requirements are met and on time deliveries are maintained.
  • Monitor performance of vendors, brokers, 3PL’s, truckers, etc. and address any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Review ACH Statements & process invoices to ensure on time payments to vendors/service providers.
  • The development and implementation of import policies and procedures, as well as the management of import documentation and shipments.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

  • Ability to manage workload and tasks efficiently and accurately. Time management is key.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent follow up and follow through skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Punctual and reliable.



Education and Experience

  • 2-year experience in Logistics preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel. The ability to create files, maintain data in the files, create formulas, and formatting. Knowledge of Pivot tables and V-looks is ideal, but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Power Point
  • Knowledge of FTZ processes and FTZ software.
  • Ability to navigate in ERP and WM systems.
