As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, engineers, you will be responsible for implementing and performing preventive and corrective maintenance requests required to support a rocket manufacturing, testing and launch facility. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of industrial maintenance with emphasis on specific trade area(s) of facilities building systems. Function: To provide journeyman level skills in the repair and maintenance of refrigeration equipment at Launch Site One in Van Horn, TX.

Scope: Responsible for installation, repair, maintenance and service of HVAC equipment, refrigerators/freezers and refrigerating equipment and their component parts in environmentally control spaces, food refrigeration, and ventilation equipment.

This will be a rotating shift: Monday - Monday - 10 hour days (30 minute lunch)

8 days on / 6 days off

Responsibilities

Overhaul and service refrigeration units by repairing, replacing or adjusting worn or broken parts on condensers, compressors, and water and vacuum pumps; adds gas to refrigeration units; repairs or adjust valves, piping connections, fittings, and couplings; adjusts expansion valves; removes/installs motors, thermostats, and humidistats; and tests for refrigerant leaks.

Check gauges and makes inspection for preventive maintenance; assists in evaluating equipment for deferred maintenance and new project installation of refrigeration equipment.

Maintain records and prepares reports on repairs and services.

Serve as a lead and subject matter expert while directing and overseeing contractor work schedules and/or quality of work.

Assist in training staff in the maintenance of refrigeration and related equipment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Manage refrigeration and building automation alarms to ensure critical system performance reliability

Qualifications

Three years of skilled/journeyman-level experience as a Refrigeration Mechanic

Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification License (Preferred)

Knowledge of tools and equipment common to refrigeration mechanics.

Applicants should be familiar with industrial safety policies and procedures; and industrial facility infrastructure.

Working knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, power point and proficiency in other computer based software programs.

Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities while delivering results.

Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
