HV Procurement Manager

Position: HV Procurement Manager

I'm working with a top IPP that is seeking a motivated and energetic candidate to join the team as HV Procurement Manager, reporting to the company’s Vice President of Procurement.

Overview: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management, ideally within the renewable energy or energy storage sectors. This role involves contributing to the development and execution of procurement strategies and contracting activities to support the pipeline of BESS Projects via Substation procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement Strategy and Execution: Lead key procurement activities including pricing, forecasting, and providing procurement inputs for financial models. Communicate effectively with development, construction, and finance teams.
• Supplier Analysis and Recommendations: Evaluate and recommend suppliers, contractors, and industry partners. Quantify and manage contractual risks with suppliers and contractors.
• RFP Management: Prepare and manage Request for Proposal packages. Evaluate equipment supply bids and EPC service contracts to inform award decisions.
• Contract Negotiation: Support the negotiation and documentation of procurement agreements for HV Equipment, particularly GSU transformers and HV Breakers, including supply and warranty agreements.
• Pricing and Technology Reporting: Maintain technical and administrative systems to manage historical pricing data and create forward-looking reports on price and technology trends for major HV equipment.
• Risk Monitoring and Mitigation: Assess and mitigate risks associated with geopolitical and regulatory changes that impact the supply chain.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain and develop commercial relationships with equipment suppliers. Evaluate and establish new strategic supplier partnerships.
• Best Practices Implementation: Support the implementation of procure-to-pay best practices.
• Market Development Support: Assist in the development of procurement and supply chain strategies for new markets, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Qualify and audit suppliers in collaboration with EH&S and legal teams.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with procurement, engineering, construction, legal, development, EH&S, and operations teams to analyze procurement options and provide equipment supply recommendations.
• NDA Facilitation: Facilitate the execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with prospective suppliers, contractors, and partners.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Experience: At least five years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or a related field. Experience in renewable energy and/or HV equipment is highly preferred.

Skills:
