Job Summary:
The Human Resources and Payroll person is responsible for managing HR activities and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. This role involves overseeing employee relations, benefits administration, compliance with labor laws, and maintaining HR records. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources:
- Manage recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor laws and company standards.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Address employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS (Human Resource Information System).
- Conduct training and development programs to support employee growth and company objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with department managers to understand and fulfill staffing needs.
Payroll:
- Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and benefits.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with all payroll regulations and tax requirements.
- Manage employee timekeeping systems and ensure timely submission of timesheets.
- Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including quarterly and annual filings.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and ensure accurate posting to the general ledger.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in HR and payroll processing, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, labor laws, and payroll regulations.
