Founded in 2015, Poppins Productions is an entertainment management and consulting company in the Midwest. We focus on creating booking opportunities and artists' development through consultation and management services. These services are integrated with business and financial literacy to equip our clientele to be better business leaders. Our services are available to entertainers from the beginning to elite level. We have worked with renowned comedian Charles Walden, who stars on hit shows, "BET Comic View" and "Def Comedy."
Our organization is eager to create new business ventures and partnerships with local and national organizations, consultants, producers, coaches, dancers, i.e., and helping to create opportunities for entertainers to be successful as entertainers and business leaders. We are proud to add a few other businesses under our portfolio, Poppins Urban Podcast and Poppins Extensions Plus.
Poppins Productions is seeking to bring on board Human Resources Interns to join our team in assisting our corporate office and sister organizations, Poppins Extensions Plus and Poppins Urban Podcast. We are looking for a knowledgeable and dependable individual who can be innovative and work well under pressure, especially in the entertainment and beauty world.
Human Resource Intern
The Human Resources Intern plays a vital role in supporting and driving HR initiatives in alignment with our policies to achieve company business objectives. In this position, you will be tasked with recruitment and retention, performance management, employee relations, training and development, and other related tasks.
Their duties include but are not limited to
Professional office work environment. Ability to see and hear within normal ranges with or without adaptive devices. Prolonged computer and phone use. Manual dexterity using fine and gross motor skills. Ability to speak and be heard by others. Human Resource Intern
The Human Resources Intern plays a vital role in supporting and driving HR initiatives in alignment with our policies to achieve company business objectives. In this position, you will be tasked with recruitment and retention, performance management, employee relations, training and development, and other related tasks.
Their duties include but are not limited to
- Understand and support the entire employee life cycle from onboarding to offboarding.
- Perform general administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, responding to employee inquiries, completing employment verifications, and drafting departmental, company, and other correspondence.
- Utilize HR technologies to increase efficiency by both streamlining and automating processes.
- Engage in recruitment and sourcing activities to identify top talent using internal and external programs.
- Assist with Performance Evaluation and Employee Relations matters.
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including orientation, training, and exit interviews.
- Research HR data and emerging HR trends.
- Work with other department heads and employees to update the internal intranet site.
- Other related tasks as needed to support HR functions.
- Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s in business, management, the social sciences, or other related fields.
- Previous related coursework and volunteer experience and/or 1-2 years of professional work experience is a plus.
- Experience using HRIS, HCM, and HRMS software and an understanding of its features is a major plus.
- Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve, and make quality decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills, as well as an excellent communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members, external partners, and senior management.
- Passionate about the music and entertainment business, and has a desire to build a career in HR.
- Able to adapt quickly to a changing environment with minimal disruption.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to the HR team.
- You are hungry to learn and grow. You are a curious question-asker who gets excited about new projects and learning opportunities.
- A highly organized and self-time-managed person who pays close attention to detail and can multitask.
- Is flexible with schedule, able to work evenings and weekends.
- Demonstrates professional presence and takes responsibility when appropriate.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
