Assistant Director of Human Resources

Hiring Range: $58,968.00 - $78,998.40

Starting salary may be adjusted depending on experience


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Three (3) years or more of full-time professional experience working in Human Resources
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and he ability to obtain/maintain a City of Hoover Driver's Permit

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

SPHR/PHR, SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP, IPMA-SCP/IPMA-CP, AAPPA or related HR Certifications


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process including identifying and implementing efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on industry standards and needs of the organization;
  • Collaborates with Hiring Managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions to include the hiring process during the offer phase, identifying and recommending salary ranges and other pertinent details;
  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes; screens applications and identifies qualified candidates;
  • Recruits and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings;
  • Assists hiring panel with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews;
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications to include OnBoarding;
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, processes FMLA, and work assessments including promotional exams;
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff;
  • Fosters knowledge and implementation of diversity programs to include ADA and other city initiatives
  • Assist with development, implementation and management of Performance Management Systems;
  • May assist with employee relations issues;
  • Performs other HR related duties as departmental needs dictate.
