What You Will Do

The Human Resources Director for Compliance supports the organization and ensures all HR and payroll practices and policies follow National, State and Local laws. In addition, this position oversees the Shared Services department with the Shared Serves Manager as a direct report. This individual will report to the Vice President of Talent Management.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Compliance: Ensures Company’s HR and payroll practices meet all Federal, State, and local regulations and laws.
  • Policy Development: Implement policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance. Revise policies as necessary to adapt to changing laws or organizational needs.
  • Auditing and Monitoring: Conducts regular audits and ensures records are accurately maintained. Interface with regulatory agencies during audits or investigations.
  • Investigations and Remediation: Leads investigations, gathers evidence, and works with legal counsel to address violations. Recommends and implements corrective measures to prevent future non-compliance.
  • Risk Management: Assess potential risks related to HR practices and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. This involves staying updated on emerging compliance trends and proactively addressing any potential issues.
  • Training and Education: Design and deliver training programs to educate employees and managers about compliance requirements, ethical standards, and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Payroll to ensure a holistic approach to compliance.
  • Shared Services: Directs the Shared Services department and associated employee support activities.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Human Resources, Business Management, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years’ experience in human resource compliance or employment law
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and State regulations
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong experience in project management (including cross-functional teams and external advisors)
  • Strong relationship building skills and strong customer service focus.
  • Comfortable working in an environment with tight deadlines and imperfect information (working in the gray).
  • Ability to present, explain and discuss results of analyses concisely and effectively to drive fact-based decision making at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to partner with others inside and outside the HR function, especially Legal, Payroll, and field HR leaders
  • Attention to detail, highly motivated, initiative / self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and work ethic
  • Proficient skill with Computer Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business acumen, financial concepts, and procedures
