Avum, Inc. is a thriving, remote-friendly small federal contractor experiencing significant growth is looking for a Human Resources Director who will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining our company culture and attracting and maintaining top talent during a rapid expansion. Avum specializes in advanced software, database, and business intelligence systems for the DoD/Military, Intelligence Community, and Federal, State, Local and Commercial clients since 1991. We're a dynamic engineering team dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through secure, results-driven solutions.



What You Will Be Doing

As our Human Resources Director, you'll be responsible for all aspects of the HR function to support our aggressive growth plans, while fostering a thriving remote work environment

  • Benefits & Compensation: Evaluating benefit options that enable Avum to remain competitive to attract and retain top talent; Overseeing benefit administration (health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, workers compensation, life insurance, 401K etc. open enrollment and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Talent Acquisition: Working with outsourced recruiting team to develop and implement a robust, OFCCP-compliant recruitment strategy to attract, hire and retain top talent across all departments
  • Onboarding: Overseeing the entire onboarding process to ensure new hires integrate seamlessly into our remote-friendly company culture including completing and collecting employee paperwork (tax forms, benefits documentation etc.)
  • Ability to become Avum’s Facility Security Office
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Implementing and maintaining best practices to ensure compliance with all federal labor laws, including OFCCP regulations; Mitigating HR risks and developing comprehensive policies to safeguard our company
  • HR Leadership & Strategy: Working with executive team to develop HR related initiatives that align with our company's overall growth strategy
  • Employee Relations: Fostering a positive and engaging work environment, even in a remote setting. Managing employee relations, addressing concerns, and implementing programs that promote employee well-being and retention


What You Will Need:

  • US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain Dept of Defense Secret (or higher) Clearance
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Human Resources leadership role
  • Proven track record of implementing OFCCP-compliant recruitment practices
  • Strong understanding of federal labor laws and HR regulations
  • Experience developing, implementing, and administering a full suite of employee benefits
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing outsourced recruiting team (RPO)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


If You Have this, It’s A Plus:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance or Accounting
  • Experience with federal as well as state payroll taxes
  • SHRM or HRCI certification
  • Facilities Security Officer Experience
