Our Client a well known University is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator in their New York, New York Location!
Characteristic Duties And Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition:
Works closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, then assists end-to-end with, recruitment strategies, search committee support, candidate management, and the hiring process.
Monitors postings, applicants, and search committee activity and drives the goal of attaining the best candidates for a variety of vacant positions, while decreasing the time to fill windows.
Process all requests for background checks and monitor results
Assists with the maintenance of approved salary, title changes, and job descriptions.
Assist with recruitment and screen resumes for all job openings to determine that applicants meet the minimum job qualifications as posted.
Organize and assist in onboarding activities such as orientation, training, and other HR-related programs.
Maintain personnel files and assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
Handle employee inquiries related to HR and handle various administrative tasks, Assist with the coordination of various HR programs and initiatives.
Compile HR reports and analysis.
Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests and provide assistance
Redirect HR-related calls or distribute correspondence to the appropriate person on the team
Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates, etc.) in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
Liaise with other departments or functions (payroll, benefits, etc.)
Support the recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, assisting in shortlisting, issuing employment contracts, etc.
Assist supervisors in performance management procedures
Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events, etc., and maintain the team's agenda
Coordinate training sessions and seminars
Perform orientations, onboarding, and update records with new hires
Produce and submit reports on general HR activity
Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, like collection of employee feedback
Support other functions as assigned

Benefits Leave Coordination:
Processes the school’s worker’s Compensation claims and reports.
Coordinates Family Medical Leave and related leaves process including, Short Term Disability, ADA Accommodations, Parental Leave, Paid Time Off, etc. including evaluating requests, coordinating with the office of leave management in determining eligibility, ensuring appropriate paperwork is completed, responding to leave of absence-related inquiries, and escalating correspondence when necessary.
Initiates and monitors the completion of absence requests and required documentation.
Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate a smooth and timely return to work; relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason.
Performs verification of employment and unemployment for appropriate agencies.
Coordinating with the HR processing center on exit interviews, new employees, resignations and terminations.
Reporting
Collects data and analyzes it to improve HR strategies and processes, and suggests ways to increase the functional productivity and workflow of the HR department.
Confirms accuracy and integrity of all data entered, maintains data in HRIS systems and databases and assures information is available on a timely basis. Performs other tasks, duties, and responsibilities as required.
Required: Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent related experience required. 2-4 years of related experience required.
