Job Description:
Sabio is looking for a part-time HR/Payroll consultant to join our HR team. Assist the HR Business Partner with HR, payroll, and benefits tasks. Ideal for candidates with 3-5 years of HR/payroll experience, strong organizational and communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and an analytical mindset.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, reconcile, and process semi-monthly US payroll using Paychex.
- Coordinate and process semi-monthly Canadian payroll, including expense reimbursement.
- Establish accurate and timely processing of payroll.
- Ensures end-of-year processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner, including W2 issuance and merit/promotional pay adjustments.
- Complete and submit disability coverage data for processing and payment
- Process registrations with state/local municipalities as needed
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements; enforce adherence to requirements; advise management on needed actions.
- Respond promptly and courteously to all payroll inquiries from management and employees.
- Respond to inquiries from IRS, State, and City tax departments regarding withholding and unemployment taxes.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Forecast trends and assist with future benefits designs. Develop specific recommendations for review by management.
- Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment strategies, including alternative methods for administration and funding. Prepare budgetary recommendations and assist in the monitoring, verifying, and reconciling of budgeted funds.
- Communicate benefits information to employees through presentations, individual counseling sessions, and written materials.
- Manage the enrollment, renewal, and distribution processes for all benefits as well as offboarding.
- Administer various employee benefits programs such as group health, dental and vision, life insurance, and wellness programs.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation that may affect employee benefits and compliance requirements.
- Resolve benefits-related issues and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations.
- Assist and participate in special projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Must have 3-5 years of full-cycle experience processing payroll.
- Excellent communication and verbal skills (both written and oral) to effectively problem solve with other employees.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate and solve problems with minimal assistance.
- Proven capability for effective use of computer systems including spreadsheet, word processing and email software.
- Must maintain a high standard of confidentiality and honesty.
