Human Resource Generalist

Description

As a member of the Environmental Products Group team, we pride ourselves on being a great place to work. We are looking for an experienced and approachable Human Resources Generalist to join our team and administer various human resources programs. Your role as an HR Generalist will be far from one-dimensional. You’ll undertake a wide range of HR tasks, administering leaves of absence, Employee Relations, Organization Change Facilitation, Recruiting and New Hire On-boarding, Management training, and assisting Managers to ensure compliance with HR policies and practices.

You will use Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. You’ll act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics. The goal is to ensure this one-person HR department’s operations is running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Advises managers and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves of absence and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Builds relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Lead the development, implementation and compliance of human resource policies and programs (Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Comp and Benefits and other programs)
  • Trains managers on HR-related topics and best practices.
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics.
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form, including HRIS, payroll, unemployment, Worker's Comp, I9s, etc.
  • Respond to questions regarding benefits, payroll, and other HR policies and issues.
  • Manage issues related to HR administration.
  • Create reports as required for compliance purposes.
  • Take a leadership role with environment, health and safety related issues as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Skills

  • At least 3 years’ experience as an HR Generalist.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related labor laws and regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills, time management, attention to detail negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with Employee Relations and investigations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have 3-5 years of experience within a manufacturing environment or similar environment.
  • Have a basic understanding of HR related administrative matters.
  • Be willing to work and grow in a team-oriented company.
  • Be able to use sound judgment and act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Have the ability to meet deadlines, work efficiently and with a drive for results.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (ADP TotalSource a plus).

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Required).
  • At least three years of human resource management experience (Required).
  • SHRM, SHRM-CP or PHR, SPHR (Required).

Additional Information

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel to each location of the organization’s facilities (FL, GA, AL, TN).

Salary: $70,000 Per Year Start Pay
