Job Responsibilities
As a HF Researcher, you'll have the opportunity to support our research activities in developing
innovative, user-friendly, best-of-breed products. You will play a pivotal role in the consumer electronics product development life cycle. You will partner with the PM leads to create and run an end to end user experience plan consisting of: surveys, 1:1 interviews, usability studies, and large focus groups / roundtables - owning the creation of materials, as well as the analysis and reporting (both quantitative and qualitative). You'll present your findings to the Product Leads to influence the design of the product / experience.

Job Responsibilities
As a HF Researcher, you'll have the opportunity to support our research activities in developing
innovative, user-friendly, best-of-breed products. You will play a pivotal role in the consumer electronics product development life cycle. You'll present your findings to the Product Leads to influence the design of the product / experience.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and task analysis to collect different data to research the interaction of humans and products
- Apply principles of human capabilities and constraints (e.g., physiology, cognition, perception) and knowledge of the user and their environments to assist in the development and evaluation of effective hardware design for smart home devices
- Utilize human engineering tools and methods (e.g., physical ergonomics, anthropometry, biomechanics, usability evaluation, statistical techniques and, task/workload analysis)
- Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and validate human product interaction
- Inspire change at all stages of product development by delivering exciting oral, written, and visual presentations about your findings
- MS or PhD degree in Human Factors or a related field with an emphasis on Ergonomics and 2+ years of Consumer Hardware research experience as Human Factor Researcher or in a similar type role in industry or academic settings
- Proficient in applied statistics and experience in one or more programming languages commonly used for data manipulation and computational statistics (e.g., R, Matlab)
- Technical experience (e.g., ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms and vice versa, able to troubleshoot an issue with little guidance and direction)
- Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple projects —can work independently, prioritizing time between multiple projects and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects
