Job Summary:
The HR Specialist at Real oversees payroll, benefits, tax compliance, policy management, and employee onboarding/offboarding to ensure alignment with business objectives. You will lead the HR function within the broader People Team, ensuring that our human resources strategies align with business objectives. Reporting directly to the Vice President of People, you will manage HR team administrators and collaborate closely with the Senior HR Business Partner.

Job Summary:
The HR Specialist at Real oversees payroll, benefits, tax compliance, policy management, and employee onboarding/offboarding to ensure alignment with business objectives. You will lead the HR function within the broader People Team, ensuring that our human resources strategies align with business objectives. Reporting directly to the Vice President of People, you will manage HR team administrators and collaborate closely with the Senior HR Business Partner.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure continuous payroll accuracy and 100% compliance across payroll standard operating procedures, partnering with Finance and Internal Audit to resolve issues.
- Manage HR and employee-facing systems, serving as the primary project and communications lead with external resources such as the PEO for US employees and other global payroll solutions for Canada and India.
- Lead employee benefits programs for the US, Canada, and other global regions, ensuring compliance with retirement plans, FSAs, and other benefits.
- Manage employer tax obligations, withholding, and reporting processes, staying updated on federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Complete internal control tasks, and maintain compliance across HR and Talent Acquisition internal controls while enforcing standard operating procedures.
- Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding processes, handling administrative tasks related to new hires, promotions, separations, retirements, and other job changes.
- Manage and lead HR Admins and work closely with the HR Business Partner to support talent initiatives and collaborate on strategic HR planning with the VP of People.
- Handle all assigned HR requests, ensuring timely responses and completion of tickets using project management tools such as Asana and YouTrack.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures to employees and management.
- Demonstrated expertise in payroll management, tax compliance, and HR auditing for a publicly traded company
- Strong background in compensation analysis and benefits management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Results-driven with a strong sense of urgency.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with project management and ticket management systems, preferably Asana and YouTrack or similar platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience leading an HR function with minimal internal support.
