The HR Generalist will be a critical member of the Human Resources team. This position is based in Greensboro, NC but this person will provide support to the Global HR Team. The ideal candidate will be a reliable individual who enjoys working with a diverse range of people and is willing to take initiative and work independently. This person should be able to take an idea to execution with minimal supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in the full hiring process of employees, including recruitment, interviews, verifying work history and references, and tracking of new possible candidates in HRIS.
Help with new-hire procedures, including organizing employee orientation, creating new employee files, administering employee handbooks, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and retained.
Organize, maintain, and update employee HRIS information as needed.
Maintain up-to-date job descriptions for all employees across VSG locations.
Travel to and represent VSG at newly acquired businesses to assist in transition of employees, including hire paperwork, orientations, answering questions and fielding concerns.
Ensure tracking tools are accurate and complete.
Assist managers in counseling meetings with employees.
Conduct exit interviews for assigned VSG facilities.
Coordinate employee surveys and give actionable insights to improve experiences.
Support HR team in educating employees and enforcing company policies.
Collaborate and brainstorm employee incentive initiatives with global HR team.
Participate in and/or complete additional HR projects as necessary.
Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant HR experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly computer literate with capability in Outlook, Office and related business tools
Willing to take initiative, own processes and tasks, and work independently
Professional integrity and sense of responsibility and accountability
Ability to follow instructions accurately while meeting deadlines
Must handle sensitive information discretely and maintain confidentiality
Familiarity with federal, state and local laws regulating employee relations
Clear understanding of required documentation and validation process for hiring new employees
Travel may be required up to 20% of time
Have or be able to obtain a valid passport to facilitate travel to other countries
