Our Newest Opportunity:

The Human Resources Consultant at OneDigital is responsible for designing and administering Human Resource policies, procedures, and programs, and supporting employees throughout the client’s organization. This Generalist role typically manages a book of business with 12-15 retainer clients and a variety of projects at any given time. The majority of our clients range from 25 employees to 350 – with some clients over 1000. Any and all industries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Provides expert advice, counsel, and implementation support on a fractional, interim or project-basis in areas of HR that include HR Policy and Compliance (Employee Handbooks), Hiring and Onboarding, Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits, Recruiting, Payroll/HRIS, Employee Relations…
  • Coach, counsel, and assist company leaders/managers on HR issues.
  • Promotes HR practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity and standards, and goal attainment.
  • Manage employee relations issues; address complaints, resolve problems, discipline employees, and follow up on relevant concerns with productive solutions.
  • Identify and stay current on legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant.
  • Works with multiple vendors and may be responsible for processing payroll transactions. Systems may include ADP, Paychex, Paycom, Paycor, Paylocity, UKG, Rippling and Zenefits.
    • Responsible for independently managing multi-state payroll and related activities including computation of wage and overtime payments, calculating, and recording payroll deductions, paycheck advances, bonus runs, commissions, fringe benefit reporting and separation payments.
    • Serves as client representative with various state agencies including set up of new states and local tax jurisdictions as needed.
    • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HYR Programs and recommends corrective action.
    • Administration of COBRA, ADA, FMLA, Unemployment and Workers Compensation.
  • May be responsible for Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) entry, accurate record retention and record management.
  • Oversee and perform generalist-level compensation and benefits administration and programs; coordinate benefits tracking and enrollment.
  • Manage performance review process to ensure effectiveness; ensure process is consistent, efficient, and communicated to all employees.
  • Drive development of retention ideas; partner with Learning and Development staff/support/vendors to implement programs or suggestions.
  • May be responsible for recruiting with an emphasis on identifying and pre-screening qualified candidates.
  • While this is a remote position, there may be occasional travel required to visit clients or local OneDigital offices.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

Consulting experience is REQUIRED. Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience managing a book of clients

Education, Training and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred; and a minimum of 5-7 years of HR experience as an HR Generalist.
  • A blend of both corporate and consulting experience. Consulting firm background/experience is preferred in the HR consulting industry.
  • A solid foundation of HR knowledge – employment laws and practices - as well as a keen ability to serve as a business partner.
  • Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification strongly preferred.
  • Multi-State payroll experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading difficult conversations (terminations, probation, salary reductions, etc.) as well as employee growth and counseling conversations.
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other HR programs.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Products and a strong understanding of existing and emerging HR and business operational technology tools and platforms.
  • Demonstrates proven project management skills and the ability to multi-task by managing the moving parts and priorities of multiple clients.
  • Projects will vary and the polished skills of a consultant are core to your success.
  • A sense of urgency and exceptional communication skills (oral and written) with a desire to build long, lasting relationships.
  • The ability to work with a variety of personalities at all levels.
  • The ability to coach employees and management objectively through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
  • Sound decision making that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, or government (Federal and State) law.
  • Independent judgment, a high level of confidentiality, and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.

The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $55 to $65 per hour.

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications,

professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
