Job Description

Summary/Objectiv e

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, this position will provide market support to the workforce in the field, building relations and connecting to the corporate culture. The HR Business Partner role will lead full-cycle recruitment and employee onboarding. This position carries out all functions relating to employment law, performance management, employee relations, policy implementation, benefits/payroll interpretation and being a liaison between the employee and their leadership team. The HRBP will promote employer branding, while supporting diversity and inclusion. This position will be a part of continuous improvement to support an efficient and seamless workflow and internal communication. Manages all aspects of HR projects from start to conclusion.

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Oversees all aspects of the recruitment function at the Regional level.
  • Actively partners with Sales Leadership Team to create job requisitions, review and update job descriptions as necessary, utilizing multiple means of marketing and tools to effectively source for qualified candidates.
  • Keep abreast of market trends and statistics to provide suggestions for talent acquisition
  • Coordinates screening and interviews with candidates and makes recommendations
  • Partners with HR Admin with offer letters, reference checks, background processing, I-9 compliance and all new-hire paperwork
  • Coordination with IT, Payroll, Training Department, Store Manager and Market Director of properly placed new hires and completing all steps with hiring process
  • Serving as a point person for new employee questions within your market
  • Manage and maintain positive relations with external and internal staffing vendors
  • Follow-up with new-hire to ensure a positive onboarding experience -30/60/90 days
  • Review reporting with Sales Leadership Team regarding to Attendance, Headcount, Turnover, Talent Acquisition to provide insights for workforce planning, HR operations and possible HR initiatives
  • Conduct market research and provide insights for salary benchmarking with Director of HR

General

  • As the point of contact on assigned HR projects, performs a variety of highly skilled duties such as: assembling, coordinating and managing project review teams.
  • Assists the department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all company employees.
  • Assists in administration of the compensation program; and audit to ensure wage and hour compliance in the region.
  • Ensures pay changes ( i.e. promotions, position changes, demotions, etc.) are consistent with Company guidelines and practices .
  • Participates in benefits administration and annual open enrollment process.
  • Keeps up-to-date on changing state and federal laws and works to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains employee rights labor law posters for all store locations.
  • Responsible for implementing subsidiary HR objectives at the location/regional level.
  • Ensures compliance with Company Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Employee Relations

  • Establishes credibility by building and maintaining collaborative relationships within the region that are consistent with Company values.
  • Counsels with management on behavior and performance issues.
  • Helps monitor the performance appraisal process
  • Counsels with employees to mediate disputes and address complaints in a timely manner.
  • Under the guidance of the Director of HR, investigates complaints and coordinates management response and solution while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Leads/promotes employee recognition/engagement programs
  • Maintain records related to grievances, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
  • Provide needed coordination for case management in ADA, FLMA, Workers’ Comp, etc.
  • Improve alignment and standardization across the organization in HR matters ( i.e. common templates, forms and policies)
  • Partner with the Training Department with onsite & virtual training events, to ensure compliance ( i.e. workplace violence, harassment and diversity and inclusion)
  • Ensures terminations are reviewed with management and are properly documented and exit interviews are processed

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Frequently: Good manual dexterity, typing wpm 40, with the ability to perform all tasks related to the position of H R Generalist.
  • Constantly: Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, possess hand-eye-foot coordination and color recognition.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time , e xempt position . Typical w ork schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m .  However , occasional Saturday hours may be needed for recruiting events.

Travel

Primarily an office setting, however t his position requires travel to stores within your market you support . Depending on your location, these may be day trips (return home at night) and overnight trips as needed. Some trips with short notice.

Required Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s D egree in relative disciplines ( HR , Business, Psychology , Communications )
  • A Minimum of Three to five year s of HR Generalist experience
  • PHR /SPHR or SHRM-CP a p referred
  • Experience in retail or wireless industry a big plus!

Technical

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, including knowledge of EEOC, ADA, and FMLA
  • Demonstrated general understanding of various benefit programs; medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, leaves of absence and worker's compensation
  • Intermediate to advanced PC skills
  • Strong research and data analysis skills
