We are a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting LGBTQ+ youth from the harms of homelessness and empowering them with the tools needed to live independently. Founded in 2002, our organization provides comprehensive services including housing, healthcare, and educational support to over 2,000 youth annually. **Position: HR Associate**
Schedule:** Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm, with 1 remote day per week
**Position Summary**
As an HR Associate, you'll play a vital role in supporting our HR department across various functions. Your contributions will ensure smooth HR operations and help foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture. **Key Responsibilities**
Recruitment and Onboarding
Drive our hiring process by posting job vacancies, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
Coordinate a welcoming onboarding experience for new hires, interns, and volunteers
Conduct thorough background checks and reference verifications
Employee Relations
Serve as a friendly point of contact for employee inquiries about HR policies, procedures, and benefits
Contribute to resolving employee issues and escalate complex matters when necessary
Support engaging employee initiatives and events
Conduct insightful exit interviews and report findings to management
HR Administration
Maintain accurate employee records in our HRIS system
Prepare and process various HR documents with attention to detail
Assist with payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate compensation
Manage the HR email inbox, providing prompt and helpful responses
Compliance and Reporting
Help ensure our organization's compliance with employment laws and regulations
Assist in preparing informative HR reports and metrics
Support internal audits and compliance checks
Oversee important annual processes such as wage notifications and employee evaluations
Training and Development
Coordinate logistics for engaging training sessions and workshops
Maintain comprehensive training records
Contribute to the development of effective training materials
Special Projects and Initiatives
Support exciting HR initiatives such as diversity and inclusion programs
Participate in team meetings and contribute your ideas to HR strategy discussions
**Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
Experience in a nonprofit or social services environment is valued
**Skills We're Looking For**
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom) is a plus
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving abilities
**What We Offer**
Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000
