SCOPE OF WORK

Under general supervision of the Regional Director of Operations, the General Manager position is in charge of all daily hotel operations to guarantee that guests enjoy an outstanding experience. This position is responsible for all hotel services, such as guest relations, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, revenue management, expense management, team building, and employee development. Additionally, this role is responsible to motivate, coach and develop their staff; actively participate in creating and implement the annual Business Plan; monitor and ensure outstanding operating results; and participate in developing and managing revenue and sales strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that assigned hotel is maximizing the Guest and Associate experience.
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with A&R’s hotel operating policies and procedures (Operations Manual).
  • Motivate, coach and train team members at assigned property, set goals, and hold team members accountable, and provide appropriate feedback, rewards, and recognition.
  • Be effectively accountable for managing and motivating associates and achieving overall financial results, and guest and associate satisfaction.
  • Ensure proper, appropriate, and timely operations reporting and record keeping both at the hotel and to the corporate office.
  • Ensure development, implementation and support successful attainment of assigned hotel’s annual Business Plan.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, take ownership of personal and team actions, communicate effectively, promote collaboration, nurture a positive, professional work environment, and ensure development of, and adherence to, A&R’s hotel operations policies, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Active participation with the corporate team leaders in the development and creation of the annual Business Plan for assigned hotel.
  • Ensure implementation of A&R’s approved Business Plan for assigned hotel.
  • Ensure Operations within A&R’s approved budget for assigned hotel.
  • Monitor operating results and compare outcomes with budgets, other competitor hotels’ performances and with industry averages.
  • Motivate, coach and train assigned Team members, set goals, hold team members accountable, and provide appropriate feedback, rewards, and recognition.
  • GMs will be responsible for all cash and monetary instruments that are held and/or received on property.
  • Be a Brand Ambassador of A&R’s Culture, Mission, and Values.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Consistently strive for improvement in both team and self.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Performance standards:

  • Performance shall be measured by achievement of the assigned A&R managed hotels’ business plans, budgeted NOI, MSI Index, Guest Satisfaction Index (GSI) and the Associate Satisfaction Index (ASI).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field of study preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of hotel management experience.
  • Minimum of one year of General Manager supervisory experience.
  • IHG Management experience, preferably with Holiday Inn Express
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Highly energetic and motivated individual.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong customer/client focus essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to shift and manage multiple priorities while adapting easily to change.
  • Results driven focus and ability to work through to completion in a timely manner.
  • Strong work ethic and the willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
