Hospice Administrator!

WORK HOURS

The Administrator works a full-time position Monday - Friday with Administrator On-call rotation duties.

What you'll be doing as Administrator:

  • The Hospice Administrator is a professional position responsible for overseeing the function of Hospice according to, state licensure law, Medicare/Medicaid Conditions of Participation and ACHC standards.
  • The Administrator is responsible for coordinating and providing direct supervision to the Medical Director, Assistant Administrator, Director of Clinical Services, Patient Care Manager, Coordinator of Volunteers, Dietary Counselor, Social Worker, Spiritual Counselor, Bereavement Counselor and/or Therapists.
  • The Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the assigned agency location; ensuring the development, implementation, and enforcement of all policies and procedures, including patient rights; planning for and administering the managerial, operational, fiscal, budget/financial issues and reporting components of the agency; overseeing and participating in the Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement (QAPI) program for patient care; ensuring that all personnel are assigned duties based upon their education, training, competencies, and job descriptions; ensuring the provision of staff orientation and staff education; ensuring governmental regulation and compliance; and establishing and maintaining liaison relationships, communication, and integration with hospice staff and services and with patients and their families, in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the hospice program.


What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of one (1) year general nursing experience preferred with current hospice, home health, medical, surgical, or critical care experience.
  • Knowledge of pain and symptom management interventions preferred.
  • Able to work within an interdisciplinary setting.
  • Possesses understanding of Hospice philosophy and principles of death/dying.
  • A professional attitude and demeanor and be able to communicate effectively and relate courteously and cooperatively with patients, caregivers, colleagues, supervisor, co-workers and all others is required.


Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in administration or a health-related field, and at least two (2) years of supervisory or administrative experience in hospice care or in a health care setting; OR
  • Baccalaureate degree in administration or a health-related field and four (4) years of supervisory or administrative experience in hospice care or in a health care setting.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership skills and clinical competency.
  • Demonstrates ability to supervise clinical and administrative personnel.
  • Has experience dealing with Medicare Home Health and Hospice standards and State Hospice regulations.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possesses background reflecting strong interpersonal skills including the ability to market, teach and relate tactfully with staff and members of the community/customers.
  • Possesses computer skills and ability to use agency software systems.
  • Certification in nursing administration, community health, hospice or home health desirable.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working condition and have automobile insurance in accordance with State laws.
  • Possesses satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.
  • Has satisfactory criminal background and national sex offender checks.
