Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver captivating lessons aligned with curriculum standards for various science courses including AP Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science.
Cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom where students are encouraged to collaborate and respect diverse perspectives.
Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all students, including those with special needs and English language learners.
Assess student progress through a variety of assessments and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth.
Maintain a positive and orderly classroom atmosphere conducive to student success.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and share best practices.
Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians about academic progress and opportunities for enrichment.
Stay informed about advancements in science education and incorporate new teaching methods and technologies into your practice.
Participate actively in professional development opportunities, school meetings, and activities as required.
Fulfill additional duties as assigned by school administration.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
Valid teaching certificate/license in secondary Science (or equivalent).
Minimum of two years teaching experience at the high school level, demonstrating effective teaching practices.
Familiarity with diverse teaching strategies, assessment techniques, and educational technologies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, students, parents, and stakeholders.
