The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will have experience which qualifies them to inspect, service, and maintain our range of heavy-duty construction equipment. This position is responsible for driving to the job site, inspecting engines and equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance to the fleet of equipment.
DUTIES
Driving to the job site.
Inspecting trucks and heavy equipment for proper performance.
Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on trucks and equipment.
Cleaning, servicing, and repairing of machine attachments.
Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.
Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
Repairing damaged equipment parts.
Performing major repair work when necessary.
Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred.
Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic preferred.
Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
Certificates and Licenses
Valid driver license
Required Skills/Abilities
2+ years of experience a heavy equipment mechanic.
Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
Excellent mechanical skills.
Ability to follow instructions.
Must have own tools to carry out job duties.
Physical Requirements
Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
Must be able to work on machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
