Job Description:
As a Heavy Equipment Preventive Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the routine maintenance and inspection of our heavy equipment fleet. Your role is crucial in preventing equipment downtime and ensuring that our machinery operates efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular preventive maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and more.
Perform inspections to identify potential issues and address them before they become major problems.
Change oil, filters, and other fluids as part of scheduled maintenance.
Check and maintain hydraulic systems, belts, hoses, and electrical systems.
Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and inspections.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Collaborate with other technicians and team members to optimize maintenance processes.
Provide excellent service and support to equipment operators and other personnel.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; technical certification in heavy equipment maintenance is preferred.
Have a full set of trade tools including METRIC
Proven experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy parts and tools.
Capability to work in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and lying down.
Willingness to work in different environments, such as outdoors or in a workshop.
