Health Educator

Full-Time Health Educator

Reports to: Health Education Manager

Lower Manhattan/Flushing Queens

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient education on disease prevention and health promotion at clinical settings
  • Support the development and adaption of health education materials in variety of formats, such as prints, social media, group workshop
  • Assist in planning, developing, and implementing of community health education activities
  • Participate in community events including health fairs and other events to promote health practices in the community
  • Assess education needs from patients and communities, maintain accurate records of educational activities and prepare project reports
  • Conduct translation activities like document or material translation and translation review
  • Support the Health Education and Engagement team in special events and projects
  • Flexibility to work in Manhattan and Queens sites required
  • Flexibility to work weekends or nights as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Public Health, Behavioral Science or related field
  • Multilingual reading and writing proficiency in languages like Chinese, Spanish, and English preferred
  • Excellent communication and counseling skills
  • Experience working with people of various age groups (children, teens, seniors)
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a health-related field, preferably in the Chinese and/or Asian American community
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), preferred but not required

Compensation And Benefits

  • Salary: $50,000.00 - 55,000.00 per year
