Head Start Teacher Preschool Floating Teacher Assistant
Reports to: Head Start: Prenatal to Three Director
Part Time/ Academic Year
Location: Litchfield County
Salary Range: $16.50 per hour
Position is open until filled / Anticipated start date ASAP
Job Description: EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to assist in teaching preschool children in the Head Start programs throughout Litchfield County. As a Head Start Floating Teacher Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing preschool children with a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Classroom Teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children aged 3 to 5, promoting school readiness in language, literacy, cognition, social studies, mathematics, science, the arts, social emotional skills and physical development. You will be assigned classrooms to work in daily based on the needs of the Head Start program.

Major Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Classroom Teachers in planning and implementing a wide variety of creative and developmentally appropriate activities for children aged 3 to 5 to promote school readiness across areas of development, including language, literacy, cognition, social studies, mathematics, science, the arts, social emotional skills and physical development.
- Build strong, ongoing relationships with parents to support their involvement in their child's learning and development process.
- Travel to the Head Start Classrooms daily throughout Litchfield County based on program needs.
- High School Diploma
- Ability to develop effective relationships and excellent interpersonal skills with children, families, and co-workers.
- Maintain confidentiality about issues related to children and their families.
- Active driver's license and insurance.
- Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this job.
- Ability to position oneself to bend and lift up to 30lbs.
- Arrange classroom furniture based on needs of children and curriculum.
- Six (6) paid Holidays

- State of CT ECE professional development hours provided by Head Start
