Head of Risk Management

Position Overview: We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Risk Management to lead our organization’s risk management efforts. The Head of Risk Management will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the organization’s operations, financial stability, or reputation. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of risk management principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and stakeholders.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Risk Assessment and Identification:
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks across all areas of the organization.
• Develop risk registers and prioritize risks based on their potential impact and likelihood.
• Risk Mitigation and Control:
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans to address identified risks.
• Establish controls and procedures to minimize exposure to identified risks and ensure compliance with risk tolerance levels.
• Risk Monitoring and Reporting:
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures and controls.
• Prepare regular reports and updates on risk management activities for senior management and the board of directors.
• Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework:
• Develop and maintain an effective ERM framework that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Integrate risk management principles into strategic planning and decision-making processes.
• Crisis Management and Business Continuity:
• Develop and implement crisis management and business continuity plans to ensure readiness for potential emergencies or disruptions.
• Coordinate response efforts during crises and facilitate post-incident reviews and improvements.
• Training and Awareness:
• Provide training and education on risk management principles, policies, and procedures to employees at all levels of the organization.
• Promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
• Collaborate with internal departments, including finance, legal, compliance, and operations, to align risk management strategies with organizational objectives.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators, insurers, and industry peers.

Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Risk Manager - CRM) preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in risk management, with demonstrated expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks.
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
• Proven leadership experience managing a risk management team and implementing risk management programs.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under uncertainty.
• Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to convey complex risk concepts to non-specialist audiences.

• This is a full-time position. Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or industry events.
