POSITION SUMMARY

The Head of People and Culture will be a functional and strategic thought leader who directs all aspects of the organization’s people and culture initiatives and programs while supporting and aligning the people function with the overall business strategy. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining the company’s overall People strategy which includes establishing organization development metrics and evaluation, learning and employee development, performance management, culture assessment and reinforcement, recruitment and retention, diversity and inclusion, internal communications, policies, among other critical functions. This role requires both strategic thinking and rolling up your sleeves to complete administrative human resources support for the organization. This includes development of legally compliant policies, procedures, and best practices that support the growth and scale of the organization. The Head of People & Culture is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO.


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Talent Strategy: Develop and implement long-range strategic plans to build human capital through performance management, coaching, training, and development
  • Talent Management: Identify and address gaps in competency, knowledge, and skillsets. Oversees and facilitates key employee and team learning and engagement tools.
  • People Development: Direct the creation and administration of individual development plans and identify resources to deliver these programs.
  • Talent Acquisition: Lead and support a comprehensive talent acquisition process to attract, develop, retain, and engage a high-quality workforce.
  • Performance Management: Lead organizational performance management programs that align with the values and mission of the company. Coach management to set clear, meaningful goals and objectives and use metrics to measure performance.
  • Develop and lead a best-in-class total rewards program.
  • HR Compliance: Ensure compliance and maintain knowledge of regulations and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
  • Foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture of belonging.


Administrative HR – to include:

  • Administering various employee benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, flex, life, accident, disability, medical, COBRA, retirement and personal time off). Ensures organization’s compliance with all provisions of our benefit and payroll programs, including audits as needed.
  • Processing payroll using ADP payroll system and ensures compliance with all applicable state and wage laws.
  • Coordinating and administering new hire orientation and paperwork.
  • Maintaining human resource records, reporting, and organizational charts.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field. Master's degree in business, organizational development or human resources strongly preferred. SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, and/or PHR certification also preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in human resources / organizational development as a high performer, including HR leadership and people management. Solid experience with mergers & acquisitions preferred, coupled with experience in a growth phase.
  • Excellent track record of leadership and team building, driving the development and evolution of entrepreneurial, high-performance cultures.
  • Experience in health tech or product technology services is required. Experience in a start-up/entrepreneurial environment is strongly preferred.
  • Prior success in creating and leading initiatives that attract, develop, and retain high-potential talent in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proven success in designing and implementing diversity-enhancing programs and practices.
  • Experience implementing HR policies and procedures using technology that improve operations, including HRIS, performance management systems, and payroll systems (ADP).
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing HR plans for high growth, including driving talent acquisition and organizational development, evaluating and revamping compensation plans/salary structures, and overseeing the administration of compensation/benefits and employee relations.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic thought leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a creative, engaging, and people-focused attitude.
  • Creative problem solver who can navigate current challenges while strategically planning for periods of hypergrowth and work in a very fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
  • Ability to juggle multiple assignments, meet deadlines, work flexibly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and maintain a sense of perspective.
  • A fair-minded, people-oriented, and caring individual with excellent interpersonal skills and sensitivity to diversity.
  • A strong analytical background and ability to challenge accepted thinking.
  • Unquestioned integrity and respect for diversity and cultures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Location

This position is hybrid, with some in person weekly meetings, as well as three annual required all-staff in-office meetings at our Bloomington, MN location.

Salary Range

This position is exempt, and the annual salary range for this role is $110,000 to $140,000. Base pay offer decisions include consideration of related education, experience, advanced certifications and pay markets.
