Role Overview:

VP of Media at POLYWOOD plays a critical role in driving ecommerce channel growth through enhancing the brand's performance marketing strategy. POLYWOOD is a leader in sustainable outdoor furniture, known for quality, innovation, and environmental stewardship. The VP of Media will spearhead the evolution and execution of paid, earned, and owned media strategies to elevate the POLYWOOD brand across digital platforms. This role offers substantial ownership and influence in shaping POLYWOOD's media strategy and driving impactful results, making a significant contribution to our brand's success and market leadership.

This role reports directly to the EVP of Sales and Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Business Growth: Develop and implement innovative data-driven strategies to achieve and exceed ecommerce growth targets
  • Budget Planning & Management: Ownership in developing and managing advertising and marketing budgets
  • Organizational Leadership: Lead the Digital Marketing Team with a focus on fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence.
  • Talent Management & Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop team members to build a high-performing, motivated team
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction for paid, earned, and owned media.
    • Paid Media: Oversee the strategic planning and execution of multi-channel paid media campaigns with an emphasis on performance and efficiency
    • Earned Media: Develop initiatives to enhance earned media coverage and grow community.
    • Owned Media: Optimize owned media channels including website, social media, and email marketing to drive performance and reinforce POLYWOOD's position as a leading outdoor furniture brand.
  • Agency Management: Collaborate effectively with external agencies to drive continuous improvement of media strategy and execution.
  • Thought Leadership & Education: Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations, educating internal stakeholders and driving organizational learning.
  • Upskilling & Organizational Education: Champion continuous learning and development initiatives within the team and across departments, focusing on performance marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • Performance Marketing & Personalization: Experience in driving scalable performance marketing initiatives in a high-growth environment, implementing highly targeted and personalized strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Hands on leader with demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and coach a high-performing team.
  • Media Strategy & Buying: Strong background in media strategy, planning, and buying across digital and traditional channels.
  • Experience: 5 years of hands-on experience in digital marketing, 10 years in a marketing leadership capacity.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications for key Marketing platforms such as Google Ads Certification, Google Analytics. Meta Ads, YouTube etc.
  • Traditional Media: Familiarity with traditional media channels (TV, radio, PR, print), with an understanding of their role in integrated campaigns.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to engage effectively with technical teams, senior executives, and board members, advocating for marketing initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Experience managing budgets exceeding $50M, with a focus on ROI.
  • Omnichannel Experience: Proficiency in managing campaigns across search, social, catalog, retail, display, video, and programmatic channels.
  • Marketing Technologies: Deep understanding of marketing technologies including SEO tools, audience measurement tools, CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and community management tools.
  • Ecommerce Expertise: Extensive experience in ecommerce and direct-to-consumer (D2C) businesses, with a track record of driving sustainable ecommerce growth.
  • Agency Experience: Experience working with and managing external agencies.
  • Analytical Mindset: Data-driven with strong analytical and performance measurement skills.
  • Testing Methodologies: Proficient in testing methodologies such as A/B testing and multivariate testing to optimize marketing strategies and on-site experiences.
  • Industry Leadership: Passionate about the changing landscape of digital marketing industry, with a track record of speaking at conferences and building industry relationships.

Bonus Points:

  • Home Furnishings Experience: Preferred experience within the home furnishings or outdoor brands sector, with a deep understanding of consumer expectations.
