Head of Enterprise Risk

Job Description:

Position Summary: The Head of Enterprise Risk will be responsible for overseeing and managing the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework across the organization. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the banking industry equipped with a deep understanding of the various risks facing banks and the tools and methodologies to measure and mitigate these risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
• Identify, assess, monitor, and report on key risks including credit, market, interest rate, liquidity, investment, merger and acquisition integration, regulatory and legal, operational, and reputational risks.
• Provide expert advice and recommendations to improve the business and ensure acceptance by line management.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of risk management practices.
• Manage and mentor the risk management team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Prepare and present risk reports to the executive team and the Board of Directors, highlighting key risk exposures and mitigation actions.
• Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, auditors, and other external stakeholders regarding risk management practices and compliance matters.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise risk management or equivalent roles within the banking industry
• Experience dealing with FDIC, Federal Reserve, OOCC
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field
• Comprehensive knowledge of risk management in key areas facing banks, including credit, market, interest rate, liquidity, investment, M&A integration, regulatory and legal, operational, and reputational risks
