Position Summary: The Head of Enterprise Risk will be responsible for overseeing and managing the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework across the organization. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the banking industry equipped with a deep understanding of the various risks facing banks and the tools and methodologies to measure and mitigate these risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
Identify, assess, monitor, and report on key risks including credit, market, interest rate, liquidity, investment, merger and acquisition integration, regulatory and legal, operational, and reputational risks.
Provide expert advice and recommendations to improve the business and ensure acceptance by line management.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of risk management practices.
Manage and mentor the risk management team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Prepare and present risk reports to the executive team and the Board of Directors, highlighting key risk exposures and mitigation actions.
Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, auditors, and other external stakeholders regarding risk management practices and compliance matters.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise risk management or equivalent roles within the banking industry
Experience dealing with FDIC, Federal Reserve, OOCC
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field
Comprehensive knowledge of risk management in key areas facing banks, including credit, market, interest rate, liquidity, investment, M&A integration, regulatory and legal, operational, and reputational risks
