The Head of Digital Content Innovation is part of Takeda’s Data, Digital & Technology (DD&T) organization, specifically within the Commercial Innovation & External Experience area. This function focuses on developing and executing next-generation digital strategies to enhance experiences for patients, customers, healthcare professionals, and donors. Additionally, it aims to build DD&T capabilities for innovative go-to-market models, driving impact across various business units.

Position Objectives

The scope of the Head of Digital Content Innovation involves leading the strategy and implementation of enterprise content capabilities that enable content creation, re-use and deployment. This role manages the Personalized Content Engine & Medical Legal Regulatory (MLR) capability for the business units to deliver targeted, analytics-driven content, fostering innovation and educational integrity.

  • Develop a platform content strategy that aligns with evolving digital landscapes and business goals, leveraging Takeda’s Personalized Content Engine (PCE) to deliver targeted experiences.
  • Drive the use of cutting-edge content digital technologies, including immersive web experiences, and uphold a culture of innovation through regular Medical Legal Regulatory Review (MLR) processes.
  • Lead and create modular content strategy and deployment capabilities across businesses.
  • Champion the use of a Modular Content Generation Engine to enable rapid development of personalized digital content that enhances user engagement and brand interaction.
  • Direct efforts to optimize content creation and personalization using data analytics and omni-channel integration, establishing a continuous improvement feedback loop

Position Accountabilities

  • Ensure alignment with growth and innovation direct the evolution of Takeda's content strategy, to support the sharing and reuse of content, ensuring the content strategy remains agile to meet market demands and business objectives.
  • Cultivate innovation and technology implementation lead the deployment of the personalized content engine (PCE) that employs a modular content generator, fostering a culture of innovation and ensuring the creation of immersive, personalized content experiences.
  • Enhance cross-functional synergy collaborate with cross-functional teams, supporting the platforms and processes including the tier-based MLR review (owned by Global Regulatory Affairs), to ensure content accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment with corporate initiatives.
  • Analytics-informed content strategy develop and oversee a content strategy informed by content analytics & integration, utilizing data analytics and omni-channel integration to refine the personalized content delivery and enhance user engagement.
  • Lead and inspire team excellence guide the content team to excel in managing the end-to-end technology and process architecture, ensuring that they use analytics to drive performance, user engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Elevate educational content Oversee the development of educational materials, ensuring Takeda's team is proficient in utilizing the Personalized Content Engine (PCE) and Medical Legal Review (MLR) processes, catering to diverse learning requirements while maintaining utmost informational accuracy and compliance.
  • Technology stewardship and ops Manage ongoing operation and maintenance of digital content tech, ensuring that systems like PCE and MLR are running effectively, updated regularly, and aligned with the latest digital content strategies and compliance standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Over 10 years of experience in marketing operations.
  • Expertise in running marketing campaigns, especially in collaboration with agencies.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical, legal, and regulatory approval processes for content approval.
  • Proven experience managing large, complex programs within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills. Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

U.S. Base Salary Range

$205,100.00 - $322,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
