About The Role

Christy Sports is looking for a Director of Marketing Growth, Retention, and Analytics who is a data-driven and consumer-centric marketer, with a specialization in the active lifestyle industry. This role will be instrumental in developing and executing marketing strategies to drive customer acquisition, enhance retention, and optimize ROI for our retail and sports rental business segments. This role requires strong analytical capabilities and the business acumen to translate quantitative and qualitative data into action. Success in this role requires a high sense of ownership, a demonstrated background in driving results through data-driven strategies, and a passion for building guest loyalty and solving the most critical business problems.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to drive growth and retention for our outdoor retail and sport rental divisions.
  • Manage the inputs and outputs of the marketing budget to ensure we are managing spend to efficiency targets and adjusting to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Lead marketing agency planning, deliverables, and performance expectations. Ensure there are quarterly reviews to adjust strategies and spending.
  • Utilize data analytics and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and optimize marketing campaigns targeted at outdoor enthusiasts and mountain tourists.
  • Lead the development of customer segmentation strategies to personalize marketing efforts and improve targeting for mountain lifestyle activities.
  • Influence and collaborate with cross-channel partners to optimize and evolve lifecycle marketing strategies using all channels to increase retention of customers.
  • Develop and deploy the strategy of the Christy Sports loyalty program and the ongoing evolution of the program.
  • Leverage data to define and align the organization around objectives to improve customer lifetime value.
  • Leverage data to draw clear, concise narratives on performance and assess potential strategic opportunities for both customer retention and the broader business.
  • Collaborate with the extended marketing team and business units to align marketing strategies with product launches and seasonal promotions.
  • Partner with store leadership to develop B2B growth marketing strategies and tactics to ensure we are maximizing our community engagement.
  • Oversee the implementation of marketing automation tools and CRM systems to enhance customer engagement and retention.
  • Conduct A/B testing and optimization experiments to improve campaign performance and conversion rates.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value (LTV) to track marketing effectiveness and ROI.
  • Manage third-party vendors and SAS partners to ensure strategic alignment with business goals, roadmap deliverables, and quarterly performance reviews.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to guide strategic marketing decisions.
  • Provide ad hoc support, as needed, across the broader lift revenue team to achieve collective goals.
  • Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, including campaign managers, analysts, and content creators, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Support development goals of other team members through active listening and candid feedback.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in marketing leadership roles within the outdoor industry, ideally with a focus on retail and/or rental equipment.
  • Strong expertise in data analytics, customer segmentation, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns that drive customer acquisition and retention.
  • Deep understanding of outdoor sports and activities, with a passion for the industry.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Listrack, HubSpot, Marketo) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Google Analytics or similar tools.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing market conditions.

The budgeted range starts at $130,000- $150,000 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

  • Bonus eligible based upon company performance indicators
