What you will be doing

Responsible for proactively prospecting, facilitating, and closing group and catering business opportunities. Conduct a successful, aggressive solicitation process involving outside sales calls, inside appointments, telephone calls, individual letters, and direct mail. Work extensively on active sales solicitation. Assist the Director of Sales in the preparation of the annual marketing plan, including the action plans covering assigned market segments. Send proposals on all leads that fit the profile of the property and actively follow through to convert from proposal to definite status. Obtain, document, and route all necessary information on definite groups, including billing information, credit application, rooming list, and VIP arrangements. Details on meeting arrangements, menus, audio-visual arrangements, etc., should be documented and passed on to catering manager for follow up.

Requirements:

Requirements: Associate's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Hospitality, Tourism or related field. 2 years of experience as sales manager, catering sales manager, sales coordinator or related occupations. Require proficient knowledge of Delphi and prospecting knowledge. Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks, strong organization, and presentation skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills. May be required to travel one to two trips per quarter to trade shows in the US and Canada.
