What You'll Do
Support inventory and merchandising goals
Meet objectives for sales, labor costs, and service
Ensure that the department contributes to the financial best interest of the store
Develop and support procedures for ordering, receiving, pricing, and stocking for the department
Hire, train, develop, and schedule Grocery Department personnel; develop, maintain, and be responsible for team performance standards
Uplift, encourage, mentor, and lead a dynamic team of individuals
Ensure adherence to New Pioneers’ customer service standards
Maintain a clear line of communication between all departments
Work closely with the Assistant Grocery Lead, Coordinator Team, and Receiver on inventory standards, programs, sale cycles, and department resets
Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Store Team Lead and Assistant Store Team Lead

Experience in supervising/managing/ leading, hiring, training, motivating, and evaluating grocery staff
Knowledge of natural foods industry
Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments

Physical Requirements
Extensive standing
Bending, reaching, walking
Must have a high level of mobility/flexibility in the space provided
Must be able to carry food products weighing 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet regularly
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Exposure to heat, cold, and odors
Working in a retail grocery store and office environment
This position requires a committed schedule which may include opening, mid-shift, and closing, and requires weekend, and holiday shifts on a regular basis.
The Grocery Lead position is a full-time salaried position with benefits.
