Job Description

The Grocery Buyer is responsible for purchasing and maintaining the Dry Grocery program. You will maintain stock integrity through purchasing and monitoring sales for the Dry Grocery aisles, case stacks, and any remote displays. You will be responsible for managing department inventory, in-stock position, pricing integrity, proper rotation, and merchandising. The Dry Grocery Buyer must meet purchase budgets, margin requirements, and be able to control shrink while providing exceptional customer service.

What You Will Bring

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work a variety of retail shifts including weekends and holidays
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break, working on the floor alongside our team
• Ability to bend, stoop, grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads up to 50 lbs. unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted
  
  

What You Will Do

• Model and provide exceptional customer service
• Maintain stock integrity through proper purchasing while meeting purchase budgets and margin requirements
• Use an ordering system that includes tracking tools, order boards, and vendor support
• Optimize product mix to generate turns
• Ensure low out-of-stocks
• Monitor and control shrink
• Maintain correct department signage and pricing
• Communicate new product information to team members
• Log, order, and retrieve special orders for our customers
• Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to all safe work practices
• Effectively communicate with customers, team members, and store leadership
