Job Summary
The Greenhouse Grower Helper will carry out daily tasks of growing processes and addressing crop needs at the direction of team leaders and management. Assist Greenhouse Grower in finishing crops on time, in the correct quantities, and according to internal harvest specifications.
Duties/Responsibilities
Provide daily care to greenhouse and nursery plants including planting, transplanting, pruning, watering, weeding, fertilizing, controlling insects and disease, and administering pesticides.
Inspect plant material for disease and insect problems, and mechanical damage, and assist with ventilating propagation tents.
Prepare proper soil mixes and pesticide mixes as designated by the supervisor or project leader.
Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ability to wear chemical handling PPE and work in a warm and humid environment for extended periods.
Ability to adapt/respond to various personalities.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a high-paced work environment.
Desire to work and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Passion for work and a love of people.
A love of houseplants and/or desire to learn more about them.
Education And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent,
Associate degree in Greenhouse, Horticulture, Botany, or related field preferred.
1+ years of relevant job experience
Physical Requirements
Must be able to bend, twist, turn, climb, pull, lift, and carry up to 55 pounds frequently throughout the workday.
