Graphic Artist and Paginator

Independent Newsmedia Inc. USA's team is looking for a Graphic Artist and Paginator, who is able to work within demanding deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Create and produce high-quality graphics, advertisements, and editorial layouts for print and digital editions.
• Ensure designs are visually engaging and align with publication's style and brand guidelines.
• Develop and maintain effective page layouts for daily, weekly, and special editions.
• Collaborate with editors and journalists to present content clearly and attractively.
• Coordinate with the advertising department to place ads in appropriate sections.
• Review all designs and layouts for accuracy, consistency, and errors.
• Ensure pages meet quality standards before final production.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
• Stay updated on industry trends and new design techniques.
• Incorporate innovative design elements to keep the newspaper visually appealing.
• Adapt print designs for digital editions.
• Ensure layouts are optimized for online and mobile viewing.
• Collaborate with the digital team to enhance user experience.

The successful candidate must be able to carry out the above and other varied design assignments without close supervision while being both accurate and productive.

Skills needed:

• Proven experience as a Graphic Designer and Paginator, preferably in the newspaper or publishing industry.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) preferred.
• Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to take constructive feedback.
• Time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing tools.
