What Would You Do As a Grants Manager

As the Grants Manager at Mid-Ohio Food Collective, you'll dive headfirst into researching funding opportunities and crafting compelling grant proposals.

  • Lead grant application process including review and analysis of RFPs, collaboration with internal partners to develop high quality, competitive proposals, and submission of final applications.
  • Maintain grant activity reporting system and related confidential files.
  • Oversee post-award process to include grant agreement signature process, gift acknowledgement, gift recognition, reporting, and other stewardship activities as needed.

Summary

Responsible for managing the Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) grant process including prospect identification, donor outreach and cultivation, preparing and submitting grant applications and reports to further MOFC's mission.

Primary Duties

  • Research, identify, and recommend grant opportunities that support MOFC's mission, programs, and strategic priorities.
  • Lead grant application process including review and analysis of RFPs, collaboration with internal partners to develop high quality, competitive proposals, and submission of final applications.
  • Serves as the lead grant writer for MOFC.
  • Perform supervisor responsibilities for Grants Coordinator position, to include training and development, goal setting and performance reviews, ensuring deadlines are met, and providing guidance and leadership.
  • Conduct pre-grant application meetings with appropriate team members across departments to determine cost/benefits, eligibility, timelines, responsibilities, and application process.
  • Lead the grant writing and submission process.
  • Maintains grant activity reporting system and related confidential files.
  • Oversee post-award process to include grant agreement signature process, gift acknowledgement, gift recognition, reporting, and other stewardship activities as needed.
  • Manage and/or co-manage relationships with grant funders as assigned.
  • Oversee grant reporting schedules, manage reporting responsibilities, and ensure necessary reports are completed to comply with grant requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with team members and grant funders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Education and Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in related field is required.

Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in grant writing, application development, report writing, data collection and analysis, outcome measurements and reporting results. Knowledge of community, corporate and family foundations in MOFC's service area. Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising and proven success of goal attainment. Knowledge of grant research and proposal writing practices and principles. Experience with federal, state, and local grant funding preferred. Previous supervisory experience is required.

Skills/Competencies: Proficiency with Microsoft tools, excellent written and oral communication skills. Must possess outstanding research, writing, proof reading, planning, organizing, conceptual and strategic/critical thinking skills. Must be able to communicate in a compelling and succinct manner. Ability to work independently as well as with a team. Must be able to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and be flexible to changing priorities.

Job Conditions

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Occasional travel may be required. MOFC is as drug-free workplace
