Razor is seeking (4) qualified Grants Management Specialists to support the grants management administrative systems for the Farm to School program.

Client- Federal Government Agency: USDA

Start Date: September 16

Background check required but no security clearance required

Term: 12 month + 2 option years


Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Experience:

  • 3+ relevant employment experience in cooperative agreement or grant management, preferably with federal grant regulations and processes.
  • Preferred but not required: Experience with public health, nutrition, or foodservice grant programs.

Communication:

  • Proficiency in English for effective communication with FNS staff and grantees.
  • Ability to understand, discuss, and clarify instructions, and use proper punctuation and grammar in drafting materials and correspondence.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access for managing correspondence, reports, and administrative tasks.
  • Knowledge and experience with various webinar platforms such as WebEx, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.

Professionalism:

  • Consistent demonstration of professionalism, fairness, cooperation, and respect towards coworkers and FNS customers.

Organizational Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and priorities while maintaining organization and attention to detail.

Communication Skills:

  • Extensive written and verbal communication skills, with good responsiveness to coworkers and potential/current grantees.

Travel Requirements:

  • All contracted staff are required to travel and attend the annual Farm to School Grantee Gathering in person.
  • Contracted staff will assist with the administration of the event and provide technical assistance to new farm to school grantees as needed.
  • Additional travel for in-person meetings with grantees may be required. Travel expenses will be reimbursed at the government rate following appropriate FNS processes.

Work Location:

  • Primary location: USDA's 1320 Braddock Place, Alexandria, VA 22314.
  • Work will take place at the National Office in Alexandria, Virginia, in the Community Food Systems Division and/or via a secure VPN connection on a USDA-issued machine.
