Grants Consultant -- Remote | WFH

The Role

You will work alongside Content Directors and Researchers to provide grant support services to higher education clients. On a project-by-project basis, you will assess the fit of programmatic funding programs, consult with clients on concept development, research justification for program designs, and write and revise proposal narratives to enhance competitiveness. This role is perfect for helping institutions of higher education achieve their missions more effectively.

Responsibilities

Write and revise proposal narratives focused on improving higher education to optimize competitiveness.

Collaborate closely with clients to develop strong grant proposals from conception to submission.

Provide professional consultative services to clients throughout the grant writing process.

Manage remote proposal development teams to ensure timely submission of proposals.

Independently create client-ready deliverables with minimal guidance.

Manage tight deadlines to produce proposals and deliverables that require few edits.

Qualifications

Experience in writing and researching for a professional audience.

Ability to both accept and provide constructive feedback.

Strong fact-checking, writing, and editing skills in English.

Keen interest in prospect research, fundraising strategy, grant writing, and the organizations served.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrable problem-solving skills and strong work ethic.

Proven academic achievement.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education Requirement

A bachelor's or master's degree in an education- or writing-related discipline, though candidates with relevant experience who hold other degrees will be considered.

Experience Requirement

3-5 years' experience as a grant writer, reviewer, and/or editor with hands-on proposal support and/or grant writing experience.

Prior experience working with federal funding agencies, especially the US Department of Education, is required.

Compensation

The compensation range for this role is $79,780 - $123,640. The base salary offered is contingent on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation and benefits programs are designed to be competitive, equitable, and fair.
