GIS Analyst

As a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Technician, you will be responsible for supporting various projects by collecting, analyzing, and managing geographic data. Your primary role will involve utilizing GIS software and tools to create, update, and maintain spatial databases and maps. You will work closely with GIS analysts, engineers, & surveyors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of spatial data and analysis for a variety of applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Collection and Integration:
• Organize and integrate collected data (i.e. wells, pads, right of way, electric lines, and pipelines) into GIS databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Data Management, Maintenance, & Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC):
• Update and maintain GIS databases by incorporating new data, correcting errors, and performing data quality assurance checks.
• Perform QA/QC checks on data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency. This involves reviewing data for errors, conducting validation checks, and implementing data quality improvement procedures.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Document workflows, procedures, and methodologies related to GIS data collection, management, and analysis.
• Querying and preparing reports or other deliverables for various departments as projects arise.
• Training and Development:
• Stay updated on advances in GIS technology, methodologies, and best practices.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proficiency in GIS software Esri ArcGIS
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with GPS technology and data collection methods preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
