Geographic Information Systems Analyst

Akkodis is seeking several GIS Analyst for hybrid contract opportunities with our Utilities Client in Indianapolis. The GIS Analyst should have direct experience working with ArcGIS products and ESRI

Pay/Salary Range: $26-30/HR

GIS Analyst job responsibilities include:

• Utilize GIS software and tools to create, maintain, and update geospatial datasets related to the electrical distribution network, including substations, transformers, poles, and distribution lines.
• Conduct spatial analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in the electrical infrastructure, helping to optimize asset management and improve system reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate GIS data into decision-making processes, such as asset planning, outage management, and infrastructure upgrades.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience working with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms, including proficiency in data management, spatial analysis, and cartographic design.
• Familiarity with electrical utility systems and terminology, including knowledge of distribution network components, voltage levels, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and extract actionable insights.
