Genetic Counseling Assistant

This position provides support for theGenetic Counseling function by facilitating the genetic testing process,including collection of patient information, sending out specimens,coordinating testing, coordination of insurance information, and maintaininglaboratory kits and supplies. Alsoresponsible for identification of laboratories, researching appropriate testingand sample submission requirements, and preparing genetic test ordering forms. Thisposition will also participate in the general genetic clinical programincluding patient care assistance, collection of medical records and familyhistory, patient phone intakes, entering pedigrees, and preparing riskassessments in genetics software programs. Additional responsibilities includeresolution of routine inquiries, management of phone calls and messages, and medicalrecords requests.
