Independent Artist Group (IAG) was born upon the merger of Agency for the Performing Arts (APA) and Artist Group International (AGI) in the summer of 2023. IAG combines the breadth of APA’s renowned full-service representation capabilities as a legacy Talent and Literary agency in the entertainment industry, with AGI’s reputation as the premiere independent music touring agency with a roster of superstar stadium and arena acts as well as cutting-edged emerging artists in the music and comedy worlds. What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an experienced HR professional who is excited to work in entertainment. This person should have demonstrated experience working throughout the employee lifecycle, with a strong sense of emotional intelligence and an ability to develop connections with a diverse, distributed workforce. The ideal candidate will have an appreciation for the role that a talent agency plays in the entertainment industry and an eagerness to learn about how our employees contribute to the agency’s strategy.

Duties

  • Employee lifecycle: manage the administration HR functions including, hiring, onboarding, development, and offboarding
  • Work seamlessly within the company’s HRIS to input personnel changes such as promotions, raises, contract renewals, and separations
  • Employee relations: serve as point of contact by providing guidance and support to employees of all levels and managing disciplinary processes as necessary
  • Talent acquisition: full cycle recruiting for administrative support roles and additional roles as needed
  • Compliance: ensure up-to-date knowledge of and adherence to federal, state, and local legislation for all employee and organizational matters
  • Help support benefits administration by answering benefits-related inquiries, assisting with new hire and special enrollments as necessary, audit enrollment information, liaise with brokers and carriers
  • Monitor and review employee data to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Support and champion company Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) efforts
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed

Skills And Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with colleagues and employees, especially with sensitive and/or personal information
  • Ability to maintain discretion and a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail: resourceful, proactive, reliable, trustworthy, and assertive
  • Persistent, sensitive, and solution-oriented in the face of complex people challenges
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team depending on the situation
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices
  • Ability to independently identify and propose opportunities for program/process improvement, and execute as necessary
  • Interest in entertainment industry

Education And Experience

  • 3-5 years human resource management experience
  • Proficiency in Paylocity and/or other HRIS system/s
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Slack
  • Experience in the entertainment industry (e.g. talent agency, studio, production company, promoter) preferred
