POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Vice President and General Manager of Data Center Operations is expected to be an exceptional cross functional leader capable of guiding, growing, and mentoring the team responsible for managing one of the largest North American hyperscale focused portfolios in the third-party provider space.  This executive leader will be responsible for working closely commercial and investment management teams to ensure that both customer and capital partner needs are exceeded.  This leader will also help drive community relations in each of the markets that we operate. 

RESPONSIBILITIES{{:}}

Portfolio Management{{:}} 

  • P & L responsibility for the data center portfolio and optimization of assets across the region.
  • Partner with SVP of Finance to oversee the financial management of sites.
  • Support adjustments to the annual business plan.
  • Administration of leases.
  • Support compliance obligations under financing arrangement, insurance policies and other third-party arrangements.
  • Ensure that the appropriate policies and processes for compliance with applicable law.
  • In collaboration with Finance, manage the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, monthly reports, and variance reports.
  • Act as executive sponsor for customers and prospective customers.

Data Center Operations and Reliability Engineering

  • Lead, develop, and motivate the data center operations team to focus on the strategic development of all aspects of data center optimization, including process and technology, and ensuring a high-availability platform.
  • Direct senior operations, engineering, EHS and security leaders in the development and execution of regional goals, priorities, best practices, and delivery of quality customer service.
  • Ensure the data centers consistently perform in line with defined SLAs, including power, temperature, and network availability, and that quality and metrics are met regarding ongoing site maintenance.
  • Deliver industry-leading reliability by developing and maintaining policies for lifecycle management.
  • Oversee compliance and risk management requirements.
  • Regular reporting, establishing, and monitoring KPIs.
  • Serve as a role model of our core values and critical capabilities.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and initiatives.
  • Lead change management efforts related to strategy and transformational change.

 

Health and Safety

  • The health and safety leadership team will report directly in this position.
  • As the top direct cross functional leader, it is your responsibility to help the rest of the executive leadership team ensure that a culture of health of safety is truly being embraced.

 

Learning and Development

  • It is expected that the existing Learning and Development team report to this role.
  • The goal in leading learning and development will be to produce an industry leading training and educational platform.

 

Community Relations

  • Help build and lead an industry leading community relations program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES){{:}}

10+ years of experience leading large multidisciplined data center teams.

Ability to operate in a global business, understanding the importance of cultural diversity while at the same time being able to drive effective change across different cultures. Ability to navigate a complex business & highly matrixed organization.

The ability to address a variety of audiences credibly empowers me to make a significant impact.

EDUCATION{{:}}

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Master in Business Administration (preferred not required)
