Our client is a $20+ Million privately held manufacturer with a 40 year track record. This position will replace the current GM who will be retiring.
SUMMARY: Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President and General Manager will possess a general manufacturing, supply chain, warehouse and business background. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader that unites the functional departments to achieve our strategic and customer service goals. This position will oversee the entire organization except accounting and finance. You will direct and coordinate activities of the organization to obtain optimum efficiency and maximize profits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, develops and implements organization policies and goals to improve the overall performance of the company.
Manages the KPI’s and Continuous Improvement Process.
Works closely with the Manufacturing Manager to improve manufacturing operations, product design and driving production goals.
Have a working knowledge of the fit/form and function of how our products are used in the industry.
Develops and monitors performance and efficiency metrics, identifying areas for improvement and reporting results to the CEO.
Contributes to sales innovations, strategic business development, and the profitability of the company as determined by the company's strategic goals.
Works with the company’s ERP and Network Administrator to streamline information flow and highlight opportunities.
Makes recommendations/present proposals to the best way to spend available capital to the CEO.
Reviews and negotiates customer and/or vendor contracts/agreements.
Helps promote a company culture that encourages top performance, high morale, accountability, and empowerment amongst decision makers.
Oversight of all Supply Chain activities. Maintains proper on-hand quantities of all raw material, purchased items, and finished goods so they are available for manufacturing, assembly and/or sale. Works with vendors at a high level to achieve the best price, service, and quality.
Tracks changes in the market, new product developments or processes.
Demonstrates the ability to conduct cost analysis and identify areas of potential improvement and leveraging of best practices including make v. buy analysis.
Oversees compliance maintenance to ISO9001 standard.
Oversight of all project engineering and product design including new and existing products.
GENERAL MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, engineering, or related field.
8 or more years' experience in a related manufacturing management position required.
Preferred experience with Solidworks software - SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD software includes easy-to-understand 3D design software, helping manufacturing professionals and engineers accelerate every aspect of their product development process.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Understanding of financial management and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash-flow management.
Excellent management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to visit customers and suppliers throughout the North America as needed (less than 15% of the time).
