General Manager

Summary

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all operations pertaining to new division start up. The successful candidate is responsible for strategy, implementation, hiring, training, leadership and execution of company vision and goals.

Key Activities

• Manage operations and define direction of company activities
• Oversee all manufacturing processes, increase efficiencies and reduce costs in new division set up
• Create and maintains effective analysis and reporting tools to communicate to stakeholders
• Take a data driven approach to plant management, deriving insights from data to direct the focus and resources of the operations team and associated partners
• Have a strong aptitude to learn and up-skill quickly (must have experience with start-ups)
• Provide input related to new and existing safety initiatives to increase plant safety standards
• Understand critical factors related to new division set up (capital projects, hiring, performance, environmental, safety, budgeting etc.) in order to make sound decisions that impact the local site.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in leading operations-focused teams (e.g. performance and conflict management).

Educations & Experience

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in operations in bakery environment (cookies specifically)
• Manufacturing knowledge with high-speed packaging systems (proven experience with start-ups and/or new divisions).
• Business Degree, MBA or related university degree.
