Position Overview: The General Manager is the leader of our Columbus site and is primarily accountable for providing overall direction to lead a tire collection, processing/manufacturing operation. This role ensures that operations are conducted in a safe, compliant, and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage site operations including tire collection, grading operations, processing operations, maintenance operations, feedstock and end-product inventory, outbound logistics, and sales.
• Ensure the implementation of a comprehensive safety plan consistent with federal laws and company policies.
• Create a culture that maximizes employee performance.
• Lead by example and spend the required amount of time on the production floor to drive results.
• Manage workforce by ensuring proper staffing levels, developing people, and directing resources to attain key safety, financial, and operational goals.
• Surpass financial targets by driving production costs below standard and increasing productivity (labor, material, overhead) by utilizing metrics to identify trends and make course corrections.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, finance, productivity, quality, inventory, and logistics.
• Ensure that standardized work practices are implemented daily, including SOPs and housekeeping checklists.
• Ensure that all fire/safety checks are completed on time.
• Oversee an effective preventative maintenance program to keep manufacturing equipment capable of meeting quality and productivity targets.
• Maintain buildings, facilities, and grounds in a manner consistent with company standards.
• Assist the Regional Vice-President with sales, potential partnerships, and customer relations/retention activities.
• Proactively communicate with leadership about site performance and situations that may impact the achievement of budget or operational priorities.
• Communicate key developments, lessons learned, and challenges to colleagues to facilitate best practice sharing.

• Proven record of building a high-performing team in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing and growth-oriented atmosphere.
• Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with a proven record of building strong relationships and collaborating with frontline associates.
• Keen business acumen and attention to detail with a solid record of leading change and delivering superior safety and business results.
• Working knowledge of all facets of manufacturing including safety, production, quality, financials, continuous improvement, team building, employee relations, customer service, purchasing, and distribution.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or another related field, or a combination of education and experience in a related field.
• Minimum of five years of overall manufacturing experience in a leadership role, including responsibility for safety, production, quality, financials, employee development, and inventory management.
