The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University seeks a General Internist to join an outstanding group of clinician educators. The Division of General Medicine provides comprehensive evidence-based care to a widely varied patient population that spans all levels of complexity

This faculty position provides opportunities for both outpatient and inpatient clinical care, and the position also allows for significant clinical teaching of Residents. The successful candidate will have an interest in developing a career as a superb clinician educator. The Division is well positioned to support a range of clinical interests.

Requirements include: BC/BE in Internal Medicine, skill in clinical care and medical education, and demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Division of General Medicine Highlights:

  • Over 20 full-time faculty with a wide range of clinical interests
  • Faculty with key leadership roles in the Department of Internal Medicine, the physician practice plan, and the School of Medicine, including:
    • President of MCV Physicians
    • Senior Associate Dean for GME
    • Chief Medical Office, MCV Hospital
    • Internal Medicine Residency Program Director
    • Internal Medicine Clerkship Director
  • Over 30,000 ambulatory patient visits annually across multiple locations
